Uvavu this week insisted that the proposed closure or sell-off of up to 15 divisions would not seriously compromise its strategic capabilities in the event of any foreseeable attack.
Although a number of historic regiments such as Delta Lloyd are reputedly scheduled for the chop, Uvavu has insisted that the changes will leave the yellow insurance firm well positioned to withstand any likely future threats.
One option potentially under consideration is a much wider use of volunteer part time underwriters. Some critics, however, doubt whether volunteer divisions are a practical long-term alternative to a full-time seasoned cadre of hardened insurance professionals.
Regrettably, Bankstone News went to press before we could be bothered to seek clarification on any of this.
