Insurer LV has been looking into the eyes of Britain’s drivers and wondering why they’re getting no response.
A fantastically detailed research exercise conducted for or on behalf of the lovely insurer has found that 7% of drivers who need glasses to see where they are going don’t always bother wearing them.
Meanwhile a quarter of those who don’t wear glasses to drive admit they probably should, and sometimes have to guess a bit at night.
So if you get pranged and injured by someone with a squinty kind of look about them, it might be worth inquiring – in a casual kind of way – whether they can read the number plate of that car 20 metres away, and claiming compensation if they can’t.
There’s a lot of it about, apparently.
